Its home because….they offer roof top terraces and cottages. Used to offer camping, but will need to check if its still available. We camped there and were very impressed with the clean, large ablution blocks with hot showers. They have there own cute and pretty private beach and protected area. Swimming pool and good restaurant.

Its home because…..they provide hospitality like no other, welcomed us into their home, campsite and ensuite bungalows available with hot showers, several outdoor kitchens with gas and well equipped, large fire pits where they will make a very large fire to keep you warm on the cool nights. Everything well taken care of and clean. Rustic and in the bush. Such wonderful hosts.

Its home because….of the wild animals roaming the site – ellies, hyenas, buffalos, hippos, vervet monkeys and baboons, the camp sites are right on the river.

MTARAZI FALLS NATIONAL PARK: Camp site in National park

Book at outward bound, 7km before entrance gate

Its home because….Its within walking distance from the falls, plenty of ablutions, clean camp sites.

HIVU NURSERY: On the Mutare Road, Bvumba

Its home because….of the mountain views, self catering options, bright blue roof, the lovely Beryl, fresh mountain air.

FROG & FERN COTTAGES: 1.2km west of Chimanimani village (towards Bridal Veil)

Its home because….the cottages are cosy, beautifully decorated, fully equipped. Lovely, lovely, lovely. Camp site facilities are cleaner than clean with a brilliant shower. Hosts Jane & Dee are also lovely, lovely, lovely.

GONAREZHOU NATIONAL PARK: Chipinda Pools & Chinguli Campsite

Its home because….Campsite #9 at Chipinda pool has great views of the river, is close enough to ablutions, wildlife wandering around. Campsite #3 at Chinguli is right on the river (sand and water makes you feel like you’re on the beach), has views of Chilojo cliffs, feels completely isolated. Both have showers and toilets.

Its home because….you can camp on the lake, John the resident hippo comes and visits everyday, clean ablutions with hot shower, toilet paper & hand soap!, the staff are fantastic, fishing trips on the lake (means bass for dinner!), huge camp fires that get bigger every night, beautiful lodges.

GREAT ZIMBABWE RUINS: Campground right past main gate

Its home because….the grounds overlook the hill complex, the showers are big with enough hot water, $5USD pp to camp, 24 hr security literally right at your site.

Its home because….we’re right on Malame Dam, hot water is there but sporatic, the surrounding rocks makes for a very calming camp site, it keeps you on your toes scaring away the baboons who come into camp.

Its home because….its the cheapest place in town at $6USD pp in a dorm. The owner Ann is super sweet. Secure parking  watched over by Frank the 24hr security guard, they have blue toilet paper.

Its home because….Sinamatella is on top of the world, Shumba is quiet with a nearby waterhole, Main camp is close to good game driving areas.

Its home because….its full of baobab trees (where the average age of each tree is 4000 yrs old), very cool pool, lovely staff, sleep in Bakalanga or Baobab huts or camp, beer bottle chandeliers.

Its home because….of our Ngepi family, the awesome times and great company. The river swimming pool (with the crocs and hippos), lovely staff, campsites on the river, beautiful tree houses and the best and funny themed toilets!  Missing you already.

ROYS REST CAMP: situated on the B8 main road from Grootfontein to Rundu, 55 km north of Grootfontein.

Its home because….of the bush kitchen stocked with fridge, freezer and gas stove (a break from braaing!), rustic feel, large campsite with large trees and grass, swimming pool, bar, close to the traditional San (bushman) village.

ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK – NAMUTONI, HALALI & OKAUKEUJO

Its home because….All 3 have swimming pools, waterholes for game viewing, and shady camp sites. Okakeujo had the nicest and cleanest facilities of the three with an impressive waterhole (that allows animals to climb right in to the campsite!). You get to breathe, hear and see the wilderness of Etosha.

Its home because….Green grassed campsites right along the Kunene River! Oh to feel the soft grass under our tent as opposed to rocks and sand, large shady trees filled with colourful and singing birds, Hot, hot and cold cold showers, visits from large monitor lizards, swimming pool.

EPUPA FALLS PUBLIC CAMP SITE: Right at the top of the falls

Its home because….The camp is situated right at the top of the falls along the river so you can see the spray from the falls, upper deck for sundowners, lots of open aired showers and toilets where we showered by full moon light, local dog – Garabu guarded our tent.

SESFONTEIN FIG TREE CAMPSITE: Situated close to Sesfontein Conservancy office

Its home because….It’s a community camp which means your stay supports the local community, “natural spring” water hole (as long as you don’t mind brown stagnant water), private solar powered hot showers and toilets, goats wander over to wake you in the morning.

Its home because….Wild desert elephants wonder through the camp at night and drink at the nearby waterhole, open air showers and toilets,  large shade trees.

Its home because….Host, Basil was full of useful and helpful knowledge, the 25m swimming pool filled with ground/bore water, minerals and fluoride, the girls toilets are pink and the boys toilets are blue, the tree we camped under provided much needed shade, the restaurant serves the largest burgers.

Its home because….Johnny was very kind to us, we camped right on the beach – walk 10m and you were swimming or fishing in the ocean, of the 250 campsites available we were the only occupants

Its home because….Monique, Yetu and Sadie made us feel at home, private and peaceful camp sites with braai area, lazing around the swimming pool, top deck for the sunset, orange glow over the mountains and then endless star gazing, open aired ablutions – showering under the warm sun or starry night.

Its home because….we had to stay here to make the sunrise and sunset at Sossuslvei, hot hot showers.

Its home because….each sheltered campsite has its own private solar powered hot shower and toilet, the very refreshing swimming pool, Manager Willie and the staff are super nice, ostriches wander nearby.

Its home because….the ablutions are (almost) private, well maintained and smell like a spa, the staff are friendly and helpful, own braai area and light., Springbok and owls pass through the night.
