-       Best whale sightings at Hermanus on the way into Gansbaai – the deep sounds from the whales belly could be heard as they approached the surface. When we later arrived at De Kelders, we could see whales all day any day right outside our window.

-       Day trip to Cape Agulhas – the southern most tip of Africa in the southern most town in Africa. Its also the official dividing point where the ice-cold Atlantic collides with the warm Indian oceans. Along the way we drove through quaint little towns like Elim and visited the 2nd oldest lighthouse in SA at 160 years old.

-       SHARK CAGE DIVING – Sharing the water with the predators of the ocean, the Great White Sharks. What anUNBELIEVABLE experience.  Seeing great whites up close, brush against the cage, come at you with open jaws, breach the oceans surface to chase the bait and swim circles around our 12m boat..almost too incredible to believe it happened. The largest shark to kindly visit us was up to 4m long! Zulf helped attract more sharks with her homemade burley – right from her gut.

-       A day at Die Plaat with a convoy of our new friends in 4x4s. Driving along the sand, beach footy, dip in the cold rough sea, a good feed and then climbing the whitest sand dunes for the sunset. Sand, Surf, Sport, Sun and great company – perfect.

Things we about De Kelders !

-       Karaoke and all the lekker kuiers hosted by Eben and Heidi – our Gansbaai family.

- Whales, whales and more whales!
